Intro

I became an American resident in 2015. ACLC was the second school that I attended in U.S.A . It was one of the most unforgettable experienced in my life. ACLC community was a great start for me, to build and achieve my goals and dreams. I have learned a lot in this community and one day this community effort will be returned. 

 

Personal qualities and, work habits and attitude

 

My culture already taught me many great habits and qualities, but the main struggle was trying to input them into American ideals. Throughout my sophomore year and the start of junior year I developed many great habits including doing my homework on time and communication skills with friends and teachers. As for other personal qualities such as responsibility, respect and self management I learned those back in my home country. One of my responsibility was to look out for my family.i also was a very respectful student back at my previous forging schools.

 

New basics

 

The main quality that I achieved was the advancement of my English understanding. The good thing about me is that I listen carefully and respectfully, but I need to develop my speaking skills. Even though I have a lot of ideas and knowledge, I feel nervous to say them. This is something I can hopefully focus on improving this year.

 

Thinking and reasoning skills

 

Developing new skills was a tough task, but I noticed that while I was trying to develop my decision-making skills, I was also gaining and improving my system-thinking abilities. Also having classes like math and English helped me a lot, performing task such as projects and group experiments had great impact on me. The visual communication class helped me by  improving my creative thinking skills.

 

Interpersonal abilities

 

The best thing that Aclc is focusing on is developing  the learners interpersonal abilities by having classes like CCC and visual communication, which required you to participate and share your  thought and opinion and help other learners in order to succeed, Another example for interpersonal abilities is English class we used and we still have socratic seminar which we discuss and participate and share our ideas and thought and helping other learner by clarifying and explaining the reasons. Also in Math we have a team test and  in order to receive a good grade on it everyone should participate.

 

Technology

 

Aclc has provided me with a lot of technology skills, that hopefully will help me in my major, one of the greatest most helpful things that I learned were how to feel very comfortable use a technological device such as a laptop. And addition to the Visual communication class , I got to explore breaking news that had a great impact of my life.

 

Conclusion

 

When I look back to my high school years, i see how much i have gone through, it's very fascinating to see such improvement , i've learned a lot. I remember my first year here i couldn't even use simple applications and now I'm able to surf the web without any issues . I think the school has taught me many things that will help me continue to grow in my scientific and practical life and also prepare me for universities from all sides such as technology, abilities, and basics.
